Warriors Hansen Excited For Regular Season

After picking up a pair of wins over Saskatoon on the weekend to finish off the WHL pre season, the countdown is now on to Thursday's regular season and home opener against Brandon.

16 year old Carter Hansen led the team with five goals during the pre season, and says he put in his best effort to crack the roster. "I went out there everyday and worked my hardest. I got a few bounces and got some points. I can't do much more, just have to hope it works out for the best."

Hansen had five goals and seven points during the exhibition, last year he had nine goals and 17 points in 39 games with the Moose Jaw Generals.

He says that he's adjusted well going from midget AAA to major junior. "First couple of games was really fast, then you start to get used to it. Then you get used to the pace and then you start to set the pace out there sometimes."

The Craik, SK product and 2010 first round bantam pick says a successful pre season has given him a ton of confidence leading into the regular season.

"I'm feeling good about myself, got a few points under my belt, so I'm going in there with confidence and hoping to go into the regular season with that. It'll help out having any sort of confidence going in so that you're not scared out there."

Eric Arnold and Sean Aschim were tied for the pre season point lead with eight.

The Warriors are back at Mosaic Place today for practice as they work towards Thursday's regular season and home opener against Brandon.
