Thursday Thoughts

It's the 7th Annual YMCA Pie in the Eye Fundraiser today in support of the the YMCA Strong Kids Campaign. Be on the look out for volunteers lookin to pie YOU! Support the cause today...if you get 'pied' be sure to send it on...

The Kootenay Ice won their second straight OT game in Cranbrook last night.  Matt Fraser had the winner.  The Ice pelted Mac Carruth with 38 shots.  Final score was 5-4.  Kootenay has a 3-1 series lead.  Game 5 is set for Friday in Portland.

There was a lot of empty seats in the camera view last night in Cranbrook.  I am sure they have been hearing all about it... it just looks very strange.... empty seats for the WHL final?  It sounded like they called it a "sell out", so where is everyone! The team has been playing great.... have franchise and future NHL players... its a mystery.

The San Jose Sharks will be feeling the heat tonight. The Sharks have squandered a 3-0 series advantage, blowing a pair of third-period leads to move to the brink of becoming just the fourth NHL team ever to lose a best-of-seven series after winning the first three games.

The Red Wings dominated Game 6 at home but found themselves trailing 1-0 after Logan Couture scored early in the third period. But Detroit finally managed to get some pucks past a previously impenetrable Antti Niemi, scoring twice in less than 2 minutes, and then iced the game with an empty-net goal that set up this Game 7.  Tonight's game 7 is probably the most exciting "story line" of the second round of playoffs.

Canada’s National Men’s Team has won Group F in preliminary action and has advanced to the quarter-finals at the 2011 IIHF World Championship. Canada will take on Russia today in Bratislava, Slovakia.

Canada finished first in Group F, with 13 points, after a 3-2 win Monday evening against Sweden, while Russia finished fourth in Group E. The winner of the Canada-Russia quarter-final will advance to face the winner of the Finland-Norway quarter-final, which is also set for today.
Busy day around the office.... season ticket renewals.... Hall of Fame.... corporate sales....
