The Warriors weren't only trying to fill up the net with pucks Saturday, but also full of pet toys for the Moose Jaw Humane Society in the "Filling Empty Nets for Needy Pets" campaign. The night began with a Cody Beach goal just 1:03 into the first. Jake Trask found the back of Heemskerk's net; Curtis Hamilton would follow suit making it 2-1 Blades. Marek Viedensky finished off the period with one last goal for the visitors.
Warriors would fight back in the second with a Joey Kornelsen marker. That would be all for scoring in the second. The name of the game was... fights. The two teams were heated from the moment they stepped on the ice; spilling over from their last meeting only days ago.
Third period, Warriors star Quinton Howden would find the game tieing goal. 3-3... a tough fought period would result in a bad angle shot and a goal for Marek Viedensky in the final minute of play. With Heemskerk on the bench, the tribe would make one last charge. The Blades would regain control and notch an empty net goal from Jake Trask.
Tough loss for the tribe and a tougher night for the referees. Blades win it 5-3. Thomas Heemskerk earned second star honors with his 48 shot performance.
