Moose Jaw Warriors vs Kootenay Ice

Last Nights Recap
The Warriors stormed into Kelowna Thursday night and although found themselves down in the first, managed a 4-2 win. Goal scorers for the tribe included Joey Kornelsen (who continues to tear up the road trip), Sam Fioretti, Matt Grant and Spencer Edwards. The Warriors seen the return of Morgan Rielly and Antonin Honejsek to the line up. Quinton Howden joined his team and may be in tonight’s line up.

Down to Business
It’s the last game of the Warriors BC Road trip. The Warrior are an impressive 5-1 on the trip so far. The tribe are gaining on Medicine Hat and Red Deer in the standings with all the teams sitting with 52 points, Med Hat has 3 games in hand and the Rebels have just one on the Warriors.

The Warriors are 8-2 in their last 10 games. The Ice are 6-4 in their last 10.

October 13th @ Moose Jaw
The Warriors took this game 6-3 at home. Antonin Honejsek had a pair of goals, as did Dylan Hood. Morgan Rielly and Collin Bowman added a single each. Three of the six goals were on the power play. The Warriors had 9 power play opportunities. Kootenay had a season high 43 minutes against the tribe.

December 10th @ Moose Jaw
The Warriors scored another six goals in their 6-4 win over Kootenay this night. Quinton Howden scored a pair in the win, Collin Bowman, Spencer Edwards, Honejsek and Hood all scored singles. Ice fired 35 shots at Thomas Heemskerk. No power play goals were allowed for either team. Dylan Hood took home the first star.


Comparisons
Both teams are on 2 game winning streaks. The Ice are coming off of wins with Swift Current and Edmonton.

Joey Kornelsen- He was one to watch yesterday, and after another goal and a hot streak that is burning up the road; Kornelsen is playing great.

Cody Beach- Cody has 20 points and 159 PIM’s. He faced the ice 5 times as a Hitmen, and wracked up 20 PIM’s. In his time with Moose Jaw, he has 21 PIM’s in just a single game.

Dylan Hood- Dylan has a team high 6 pts vs the Ice. He has 3 goals and 3 assists in the 2 games.

Kootenay
Joe Antilla (#20)- He leads the team against the Warriors with 4 pts. He has 24 points on the season.

Kevin King (# 7)- Kevin leads the Ice with 42 points and is a +16. 25 of his 42 points are assists.

Brayden McNabb (#3)- Leading the D, Brayden has 32 points. Brayden is from Davidson, SK and stands in at 6’4”.
