WARRIORS AND WHEATIES SATURDAY

The Warriors and Wheat Kings face off Saturday in Brandon for the first trip to Manitoba in the regular season. The Last time these two teams squared off was on September 29th. The Warriors suffered a 5-2 loss in a 4 point Darren Bestland performance and a combination of Brandon's best in Mark Stone and Shayne Wiebe.


The Warriors handed the Wheaties 7 power play opportunites and allowed 43 shots on net. Since the last meeting, the tribe has made a number of changes and will be bringing to Brandon a new Warriors squad. With the addition of Cody Beach and Mackenzie Royer.


Wheat Kings Assistant Captian Scott Glennie was part of Team WHL at the Subway Super Series and has 25 points on the season. Brandon is lead by Mark Stone with 30 points. Captain Shayne Wiebe has a solid twenty points. Brandon will match up with the Hitmen tonight before the Warriors come to town Saturday.


As of Friday morning, the Warriors and Wheat Kings are tied in number of points with 23 a piece. The tribe does have two games in hand. Watch for 17 year old goal tender Liam Liston, new to the Wheat Kings line up this season. Liam has a record of 9-6-0-1 in 17 games.
