WARRIORS DETHROWN EAST LEADERS

The Moose Jaw Warriors showed the Eastern Conference leading Saskatoon Blades how hard it is to play in the Crushed Can Tuesday night. The Blades got off to a good start, scoring at 5:33 from Darian Dziurynski. Warriors 19 year old Czech forward, Antonin Honejsek tied the game at one a piece on the power play. The second period, the Warriors shined. With 12 shots of their 23 coming twenty year old Steven Stamford's way, 3 would find the back of the net.


Quinton Howden scored another power play marker followed by a Dylan Hood goal. Back into the line up from a shoulder injury, 17 year old Joey Kornelsen scored his first goal of the regular season in the second period of play. Curtis Gogol and Joel Edmundson went at it to finish off a strong period by the tribe.

Steven Stanford would be relieved by 19 year old Adam Morrison after letting in 4 of 15 shots. Quinton Howden would manage one final goal to make it a 5-1 hockey game and the second home win of the season for Moose Jaw.

The Warriors went 2/5 on the power play and 2/2 on the penatly kill. Quinton Howden notched 2 assists along with his two goals and Dylan McIlrath banked another two helpers. Warriors return to action tomorrow night to take on the Medicine Hat Tigers.
