The Warriors hosted the first pre-season hockey game in their new home Saturday night against their long time rivals, the Regina Pats. 3,952 fans were in attendance for the game.
The first goal of the game came from Pats Tyler Borstmayer on the power play. Craven, Saskatchewan native and Warrior rookie, Carter Hansen was the next on the board on the man advantage.
Tanner Olstad struck next; scoring the Pats second goal on tribe goalie Brandon Stone. Quinton Howden tied the game up at 2-2; still in the first period of play. Import forward Eric Arnold added another tribe marker to end the first with by a score of 3-2 Warriors.
Second period, Warrior over ager Brett Lyon found the back of the net to give the Warriors a two goal lead. Jack Rodewald of the Regina Pats fought back with the red and blue's third goal of the game.
Cody Beach and Andrew Rieder had the first fist fight of the game; both receiving a trip to the penatly box. Second period score: 4-3 Warriors.
The Warriors added two more markers in the third from Quinton Howden and Sean Aschim.
Collin Bowman took home 3 assists; Sean Aschim had a goal and 2 assists and Eric Arnold had 2 points.
The Warriors will rest Sunday and will be back on the ice Monday preparing for their next pre-season home and home with Brandon next weekend.
