It seems the Medicine Hat Tigers are in the same position the Warriors were a few years ago. In a six to three vote on Monday night in Medicine Hat council chambers, the Tiger’s hopes of a new facility were ended with the defeat of the regional event centre funding proposal put in front of city council.
Fox News reported that Ron Robison says the failure of the City ofMedicine Hat to fund a new arena is disappointing. Tigers are the only WHL franchise to have an arena that doesn't meet league standards at this time. The construction of a new arena and event centre is necessary for the Tigers to stay in the Hat.
TheBrandon Sun reported this morning that the Vancouver Giants plan to name former Brand Wheat Kings goaltender Glen Hanlon as an assistant to head coach Don Hay. Hanlon was fired last month from his position with the Slovakian national team.
