Thursday Thoughts

A few trades took place in the WHL; first, Tri City sent 17 year old Chris Dreidger to the Hitmen.  Tri City has star youngster Eric Comrie in mind to back up starter Drew Owsley.  Dreidger got an invite to Hockey Canada's Program of Excellence Camp this summer.

Carson Machachek was sent to Seattle from Lethbridge for a 6th round pick in 2012. 

Former Warrior Head Coach, Parry Shockey is reportedly set to join the newest WHL franchise in Victoria as reported by the Pipeline Show. 

TSN will make another stop in Sask on its Kraft Celebration Tour.  Next on the list... Estevan

MOOSE JAW WARRRIOR JOB OPPORTUNITIES

Moose Jaw’s newest facility is nearing completion and now its time for you to get a fun new job working for the Moose Jaw Warriors Hockey Club!

With a state of the art facility, a rising fan base and a great hockey team now is the perfect time to make some cash while taking part in an entertainment production like Moose Jaw has never seen before.

The Moose Jaw Warriors are seeking game night staff and event volunteers for the upcoming season in the new Downtown Events Centre. We are accepting applications for a variety of positions as listed below:

Box Office Ticket Staff
Are you friendly and outgoing? The Warriors are looking for the friendliest, confident individuals to apply for these positions. Your face will be the first to greet thousands of fans each night. What a great way to meet new people and be part of the Warriors Organization.
Hours: Average 6 games per month (September-April); 4.5 hours per night

Souvenir Store Clerks
Who doesn’t love to sport the latest Warriors gear? You will be getting Warrior fans dressed to impress as they browse through the Warriors brand new store. With a fresh and spacious new store, your job will let you get a taste for retail in the sporting world.
Hours: Average 6 games per month (September-April); 4.5 hours per night

Admission Staff
You’re a people person who loves to give customers your best with every passing by. Why not help Warrior fans get admitted to the Warrior games? With electronic scanners, the job couldn’t be easier!
Hours: Average 6 games per month (September-April); 4.5 hours per night

Ushers
Is making people feel welcome is something you like to do? Showing fans where to go and helping them find their way around a brand new building will be your calling. A warm and friendly attitude is a must. Don’t forget, you will be right in the crowd and enjoying the great atmosphere night after night.
Hours: Average 6 games per month (September-April); 4.5 hours per night

Elevator Attendants
With a new way for everyone to access the Downtown Events Centre with ease, the elevator will provide easy transportation each night. You will have the opportunity to meet fans and get to know Warrior supporters as you get them safely to and from the concourse.
Hours: Average 6 games per month (September-April); 4.5 hours per night

Security Personnel
Keeping the peace while letting fans enjoy the game is an important part of sporting events. If you feel that making Warrior games safe and fun for everyone is what you do best--- than this is a job for you.

Extreme Team
It’s time to take your passion for people and sports marketing to the next level. Be part of all the game action as a member of the Warriors Extreme team. Help execute in-stand and on ice promotions each night. You will get a first hand look at working with game sponsors, fans and exciting game action. What will look better than first hand experience in the Sports Marketing world than this position?
Hours: Average 6 games per month (September-April); 4.5 hours per night

Camera Operators
Do you have a passion for capturing life through a camera lens? The new home for the Warriors has many camera angles and a need for bringing the game to life on the video board. There is no better way to get in the action and gain valuable job experience behind the camera. Experience in the field is a great asset.
Hours: Average 6 games per month (September-April); 5 hours per night


In-Stand Host/Hostess
Got a love for TV and a personality to share with the world? We want you interacting with the best fans in the WHL at the new Downtown Events Centre. Whether your giving away prizes or hosting on ice activities, you are the host/hostess for the night when you get behind the mirophone and camera.
Hours: Average 6 games per month (September-April); 5 hours per night

In Game DJ
Love music? So do thousands of fans at Warriors games! Feel like you could bring the perfect atmosphere every game by finding a mix between the classics and the latest beats? We are looking for the best music mixing, sound loving DJ.
Hours: Average 6 games per month (September-April); 5 hours per night


Public Address Announcer
Do people say you have the perfect voice for radio or announcing? That is exactly what we want to hear drifting over the state of the art sound system in the new Downtown Events Centre. You will be announcing everything from game advertisements to the starting line up. Get your foot in the door and give the fans what they want!
Hours: Average 6 games per month (September-April); 5 hours per night

Mascot
Do people find you entertaining? How about entertaining a crowd of thousands of people--- but no one even knows it is you. The freedom to make people laugh is all yours. As one of the most integral parts of the game night experience, we will count on you to cheer on your favourite team each and every night.
Hours: Average 6 games per month (September-April); 5 hours per night
