Wednesday Morning Tid Bits

Already Wednesday and that means most of the Warriors will be heading back to their homes today and tomorrow.  After cleaning out their stuff, packing and going through exit meetings... the team said good bye to the old Crushed Can and to each other.

The Under 18 team will be annouced today.... this I promise and I also promise it will be posted on here later today.  This year's tournament starts this weekend with Exhibition games followed by a week of games.

The AHL and NHL playoffs will begin in due time.  The Warriors alumni will be well represented in playoffs.  Ryan Smyth and the LA Kings are sitting mid way through the conference and look like they could match up with the Coyotes.

After winning the Stanley Cup, Troy Brouwer and the Chicago Blackhawks are hanging onto 8th place-- battleing with Dallas, Anaheim and Calgary for the last few playoff tickets.

Aaron Rome (a Warriors for a single season in 03/04) and the Vancouver Canuck are sitting in first place and won the President's trophy.

Pavel Kubina's  Tampa Bay Lightening are sitting in 5th place and look to be facing off with the Sidney Crosby-less Pittsburgh Penguins.

Blair Jones and the Norwalk Admirals are in 6th place in their conference.  Blair is the second highest scorer for the team with 51 points.

The Connecticut Whale are hanging on for 8th place right now-- affiliate of the NY Rangers.  Will McIlrath head there?

As for teams out of playoffs, Ryan Stanton's Rockford Ice Hawgs will notmake playoffs with their 14th place position, nor will the Panther's Rochester Americans that Keaton Ellerby and Kendall McArdle play for.  Ellerby is currently on the Panther's roster along with Nathan Paetsh & Jordan Knackstadt.  The Panthers will again likely be the recipient of some high picks in the NHL draft come June.

Johnny Boychuk and the Boston Bruins are sitting in 3rd place in the East.  Out of playoff contention is Tomas Fleishman's Colorado Avalanche.

Who's your pick for Stanley Cup Champ this season?
