Warriors Update

WARRIORS GO 2-1 FOR FIRST WEEK IN MARCH
The Moose Jaw Warriors had their two game winning streak snapped Saturday night with a 7-2 loss to Saskatoon in the Bridge City. Dylan Hood had a goal and two points; Quinton Howden had one goal; Dallas Ehrhardt and Collin Bowman had one assist each; Thomas Heemskerk made 28 saves in the loss. Josh Nicholls led Saskatoon with a goal and five points; Curtis Hamilton and Marek Viedensky had two goals each. Moose Jaw was 4/4 on the penalty kill and 1/5 on the power play; however, they allowed three shorthanded goals.
The Warriors faced off with the Prince Albert Raiders for the last time this season Friday night. Dylan McIlrath started off the scoring with a beauty of a move in front of the net. Dylan Hood found the back of the net for the second goal of the evening. Rookie Andrew Johnson added another for a three goal lead after just twenty minutes of play. Second period of play…. more Warrior goals. Dylan Hood added another for the four goal lead. Andrew Johnson jumped on a Sebastian Svendsen rebound for the fifth of the night. 5-0 Moose Jaw. Raiders would fight back in the third with two Todd Fiddler goals and Brandon Herrod's first of the night. 5-3 final score. Johnson took home first star; Hood earned the second star and Stone third.
Tuesday had the Warriors clinching their first win of the week vs the Regina Pats. In a come from behind win, Dylan Hood netted a hat trick in the tribe’s 5-3 victory.

FOUR POINT WEEKEND AHEAD
The Regina Pats are in the hunt for a play off berth. Just 3 points out of 8th place, the Queen City kids are chasing both Prince Albert and Lethbridge. The Pats pulled off a big win Saturday night vs. the Wheat Kings and will face Prince Albert before a double header with the tribe. The Pats are hungry for the 8th place spot and will be looking to steal any points possible this coming weekend. They not only will be looking for wins on the weekend but will be closely watching Wednesday’s Warrior meeting with the Hurricanes with Lethbridge being a team they would love for the Warriors to beat. The Warriors will be up in Regina Friday; get your spot on the PIZZA HUT FAN BUS for just $35.00 to see it live. The Warriors will return to the Jaw Saturday for the already sold out home game.

MID-WEEK ROAD TRIP
The Warriors will head to Cranbrook, BC Monday for a Tuesday night tangle with the Ice. Kootenay has found themselves in a bit of slump, going just 1-3 in their last few games. The Ice suffered a 9-2 beating against the Blades last week and a 4-0 shut down vs Brandon. Kootenay and Medicine Hat are battling for the 3rd place spot in the East and will be looking to set the tone for a possible first round playoff match up with the tribe.

The Warriors will stop in Lethbridge before returning home Wednesday for the last meeting with the Hurricanes. This will be their fourth meeting of the season. The Warriors have dropped just a single game to the Hurricanes back on December 7th. The Warriors have posted two shut out victories this season.
