Wednesday night the Warriors hosted the visiting Lethbridge Hurricanes. Rain check night brought in a full house of cheering spectators for the hockey game. A special guest, Jack Layton was on hand for a cermonial puck drop. The Warriors honored the passing of Board Member and Alternative Governor, Doug Hetherington.
The Warriors got off to a great start. Joey Kornelsen notched the first goal of the game on the man advantage. Quinton Howden made it a 2-0 game to end the second. Warrior Quinton Howden got his second of the night and third for the team to make it 3-0 heading into the break.
Brayden Cuthbert would be the only Warrior to score in the third period. It would be his second of the season. (Photo shown above).
The final twenty minutes seen nearly as many penalties, 23 to be exact. The penatly box was like a revolving door. The tribe had 13 power plays and sent over 40 shots Brandon Anderson's way. Thomas Heemskerk posted a 4-0 shut out in the win.
The Warriors hit the road tomorrow and head into Alberta for two road games this weekend.
