Heemskerk Holds Warriors in for a Win

The Warriors visited the Broncos Tuesday night. On a downward slide, the Broncos were looking to pull themselves out of a losing streak and work at holding off teams looking to jump into a playoff berth.

First period seen only nine shots for the Warriors; but when 2 of those 9 go in... it kicks off a great night for the Warriors. Cody Beach and Antonin Honejsek scored in the first 10 minutes on Mark Friesen.

Second period, only 30 seconds in, Taylor Vause scored followed by a Quinton Howden marker for a 3-1 score. A second Broncos goal brought the home team within one. Dylan Hood managed the fourth and final Moose Jaw goal in the third. Pressing hard, with Friesen on the bench for the final two minutes, Justin Dowling squeaked one past Heemskerk for a 4-3 final.
Thomas Heemskerk went 53/56; Swift Current shot 22 shots in the third period alone. The tribe went 2/6 on the power play and 5/5 on the penatly kill.
