CLASH CANCELLED

Moose Jaw, SK.--- The 4th Annual Trans-Canada Clash between the Regina Pats and Moose Jaw Warriors alumni has been cancelled for the afternoon meeting of WHL alumni. The event was planned for Saturday January 29th in conjunction with the Warriors and Pats WHL matchup in the evening.

“We are quite disappointed to cancel this year’s Trans Canada Clash”, commented Corey Nyhagen, Director of Business Operations for the Moose Jaw Warriors. “Circumstances like this are unpredictable at times, especially when we are dealing with schedules of our alumni. Unfortunately this year, not enough former players could accommodate the Clash date,” he added.

The Warriors relationship with their alumni is stronger then ever after having many returnees visit Moose Jaw this past summer. “Our alumni are very dedicated to the Warriors organization and its success, as seen in the return of previous players for both the Warriors & Legends Hall of Fame and Annual Men’s Golf tournament this past summer,” stated Nyhagen. “We appreciate their support of many events throughout the year,” he added.

With a new facility on the horizon and an enthusiastic group of Alumni, a game between WHL Alumni is an event the Warriors look forward to welcoming into a new brand arena. “I don’t see this as an end to the Trans Canada Clash,” commented Nyhagen. “Former Warriors like Mike Keane, Theoren Fleury and many others have said they would love to play for their Moose Jaw fans again; it just wasn’t able to happen this year”, he added. “Regina is our longest running rival in the Western Hockey League and we would love to continue the fierce competition in an alumni event,” commented Nyhagen.

The Warriors will be taking on the 2010/11 Regina Pats in a home and home series starting January 28th and carrying through to the 29th. For tickets to the nearly sold out game in the Crushed Can, call 694-5711 or go online www.mjwarriors.ca. The Warriors will be taking the Pizza Hut Fan Bus to the Saturday night game. Reserve your spot on the bus for just $35.00.
