In the first of two games, the Warriors will be envading the Brandt Center tonight at 7:00 pm for the first meeting of these two teams since last March.  The Pats are 6th in the East Division with a 5-8-1-1 record.  The Warriors head into tonight with a 4th place spot on the East Division and a 7-8-0-1 record.  The tribe are on a three game winning streak, defeating Prince Albert twice and Spokane.  The Regina Pats were on a three game winning streak until a 11-1 romping by the Spokane Chiefs last Saturday.

The Warriors were 7-1-0-0 last season against the Pats and in the last five years Moose Jaw is 20-20-1-2 vs Regina.  The Pats and Warriors have very similar special teams records:
MJ Power Play- 16.4%
REG Power Play- 16.3%

MJ Penalty Kill- 72.2%
REG PenaltyKill - 76.9%

Interesting Stats
  • The Warriors are 6-0 when leading after two
  • Kendall McFaull leads the tribe with PIM at 34
  • The Warriors have 266 PIM`s.... the second least to only the Regina Pats with 260
  • Only three points seperate these two teams in the standings
Who to Watch For:
Moose Jaw
  • Quinton Howden- had 14 points in the month of October... he's familiar with these Regina Pats and with one of their top players, Jordan Weal as they have visited many of the same top prospects camps and hockey canada tournaments
  • Sam Fioretti- the top Warriors rookie has 11 assists on the season.  #11 is finding chemistry with his linemates and feeding his team for the big goals.
  • Danny Gayle- playing very well in the last few games, watch for #17 who has 6 points in the last three games
Regina
  • Carter Ashton- 200 pound, right winger has 11 points... but a ton of PIM's with 32....he's known for throwing off the gloves...
  • Jordan Weal- Easily the top scorer for Regina, Jordan Weal has 22 points and ranks in the WHL's top 15 scorers
  • Myles Bell- the Pat's leading defensemen has 13 points in 15 games
Of course, tonight will also be the first time former Warriors Thomas Frazee faces his former team. Frazee has 15 points in 15 games.
