The Warriors began tonight’s matchup with the Prince Albert Raiders with a power play goal from the 25th overall 2010 NHL draft pick of the Florida Panthers, Quinton Howden. Assistant Captain Howden put another on the board only minutes later with help from Captain Edwards and Antonin Honejsek. Raiders Mike Winther would follow up Howden’s goal, knocking a goal behind rookie goaltender, Brandon Stone in his second start of the season. Warriors rookie AJ Johnson found the back of Raider’s 17 year old goal tender Jamie Tucker. To finish off the first, Antonin Honejsek scored the fourth goal of the period to send the teams into the dressing room with a score of 4-1 on the clock.
Second period had Warriors won Jesse Paradis scoring to make it 5-1. Prince Albert would sneak two power play goals by Brandon Stone to end the second with a score of 5-3. Third period would have Tony Honejsek score his second of the night to make it a 6-3 game. Todd Fiddler would make things interesting and bring the Raiders within two. Danny Gayle would shut the door on any hopes of a Prince Albert comeback and end the game with an empty netter to make the final score 7-4.
Brandon Stone earned his first win playing all 60 minutes. Sam Fioretti had 3 assists in the win and Danny Gayle had a 3 point night. Warriors fired 38 shots on the visiting team and Brandon Stone seen 34 shots.
