Warriors Looking for a Much Needed Win at Home

The Kootenay Ice will be in the Jaw Wednesday night for their first meeting of the season. The Ice took a 1-0 loss in Swift Current Monday and head to Regina Tuesday night before making a stop in the Friendly City. The Ice are sitting at 3-2 on the season.


Kootenay still has 4 20's on their roster as of Tuesday, one of which is former Warrior goalie Todd Mathews. Just like the Warriors, Kootenay's twenty year olds are filling forward and goalie positions. The Ice team has a bit of a Moose Jaw connection with Brock Montgomery hailing from Moose Jaw.

The Ice also bring to town 6 Saskatchewan born players. The puck drops at 7:00 pm the Civic Center Wednesday night!

Who to watch for:
Kootenay
Max Reinhart leads the way in scoring for the Ice with 7 points
Twenty year old forward Matt Fraser also has 7 points
Todd Mathews made 31 saves before losing in a shootout in Swift Current and has just one win to his name so far this season in 3 games

Moose Jaw
Quinton Howden, scoring a number of impressive goals over the past few weeks, Howden is amoung the scoring leaders with 7 points
Nathan MacMaster, coming into his own Nathan MacMaster is having the month of his WHL career and has found his way scoring 7 pooints in 9 games
Brandon Stone, making his regular season debut- #32 is just 17 years old and looking to make his first game one to remember
