STANLEY CUP COMING TO MOOSE JAW!

Lord Stanley’s cup is on its way to Moose Jaw! The Chicago Blackhawk’s 2009/10 Stanley Cup Champion equipment manager, Troy Parchman calls the Friendly City home and wants to share the Holy Grail with all of Moose Jaw-- for just one day. “We are very honoured to have Troy and the Stanley Cup in the friendly city,” said Director of Business Corey Nyhagen. “Having the cup here is very special to the Warriors organization and having the opportunity to share it with our fans is incredible,” added Nyhagen. “Both Troy Parchman and Troy Brouwer were part of the 2010 Stanley Cup winning Blackhawks franchise and the people of Moose Jaw are honoured to share in their success,” he said. “The Stanley Cup is one of hockey’s most legendary trophies and it’s appearance here in Moose Jaw will be remembered for a long time,” added Nyhagen.

Troy Parchman is currently in his 14th year with the Chicago Blackhawks after joining the organization in 1994. A native of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, Parchman has 24 years of equipment management experience. He served as equipment manager for the University of Saskatchewan football and hockey teams from 1982-88, while earning undergraduate degrees in physical education and sociology.

From 1988 to 1994, he served as equipment manager for the Canadian National Hockey Team, where he worked consecutive World Hockey Championships from 1991-94. Troy has received numerous professional honours such as being selected to provide equipment management services for the Canadian hockey squad at the 1992 and '94 Winter Olympic Games as well as the 2003 NHL All-Star Game and the 2004 World Championships. Former Warriors Troy Brouwer had the privilege of hoisting the cup this past spring as a part of the Championship winning Blackhawk’s along with Troy Parchman.
