The Moose Jaw Warriors and Hall of Fame committee were pleased to welcome Derek Kletzel and Blair Atcheynum along with Builder, Rob Carnie to the coveted Warriors and Legends Hall of Fame.
The evening was highlighted with great stories, special memories, a few tears and numerous chuckles. Rob Carnie spoke to the many friends and memories made by riding the bus across the country for 15 years calling Warrior hockey games.
Derek Kletzel recalled his four years with the tribe; each filled with great team mates and hockey moments. Derek thanked his billets, family and the Warriors organization for helping him become who he is today; a part owner in Julian’s Fitness and Rehab in Moose Jaw.
Blair Atcheynum recalled the day he arrived in Moose Jaw , went down to the Civic Center
Former coaches of the players and friends of Rob; Al Tuer and Lorne Molleken were both in attendance for the evening. The event seen over 290 for the event; one of the highest sold banquets to date.
The Warriors would like to thank all those who attended the event and congratulate Derek, Blair and Rob for their dedication to the Moose Jaw Warriors and for their continued successes.
Warriors and Legends Hall of Fame Golf Tournament
The night after the banquet came the golf tournament. Sixteen teams teed off at 12:30 pm. A great afternoon was had by all, including 17 Moose Jaw Warrior players and prospects. All three Hall of Fame inductees took part in the tournament.
The top team of the afternoon turned out to be RBC. The Moose Jaw Warriors very own Andrew Johnson took home the longest drive prize.
