Tuesday Thoughts

Good morning, wow was it hot yesterday and it sounds like it isn't going to get any better today.

Congrat's to Kyle Saskatchewan--- winner's of  Kraft Celebration Tour, Kyle hosts a special edition of SPORTSCENTRE featuring anchors Jay Onrait and Dan O'Toole when they broadcast live from the community on Tuesday, Aug. 23rd.

Kyle also receives a $25,000 community award from Kraft Canada that goes towards upgrading and maintaining Kyle Community Centre, which first opened in January 1985.

In case you are wondering, Kyle is in the Swift Current/Cabri/Beechy neighborhood.  Nice to see rural Sask getting a visit.

http://smallatlarge.blogspot.com/ released the annual "road trip" milage calculator.  As always it seems Prince George has the longest milage to make.  The Warriors are on the bottom end of the scale, travelling 21,198 km's or 13,172 miles.  That's less than last year by 1,227.  Check out the full posting at http://smallatlarge.blogspot.com/.

Quinton Howden spent last week in sunny Florida for Panther's Prospect camp.  It seems like Florida is the new Warrior stomping grounds.  Is there another NHL team that has more than 4 former Warriors in its system?  Quinton Howden, Kenndal McArdle, Tomas Fleishmann and Keaton Ellerby are all associated with the Panthers.

Former Head Scout of the Pats, Todd Ripplinger has joined his brother in Vancouver as part of the Scouting staff there.  The Pats are still looking for a Director of Scouting and Head Coach.

Wondering where former Warrior Dustin Boyd will spend next season?  Last year he moved around a fair bit but next year will not even be on North American soil.  Dustin reportedly will join Nigel Dawes in Russia with the Barys Astana in Kazakhstan on a 1 year deal.

Have a great day!
