Thursday Thoughts... NHL 12 Cover, Winnipeg's first Game and Edmundson in Minnesota

The hardware was handed out last night in the NHL.  Anaheim Duck Corey Perry took home the Hart Trophy (top player) to top off the night and was the leagues top scorer.

Daniel Sedin was named Best Player by his peers.  Tim Thomas added to his hardware haul with the coveted Vezina trophy for top goaltender.  Canuck Ryan Kesler was named best defensive forward. Nicklas Lidstrom took home the Norris for best defencemen.

Top rookie went to Jeff Skinner from the Hurricanes and coach of the year went to Pittsburgh bench boss, Dan Bylsma.

Those are just a few of the award winners.  Another big annoucement was made regarding the next player to grace the cover of the ever popular EB Sports NHL 12.   And the winner was.... Steve Stamkos--- his speech sounded like he is a big fan just like a number of the Warriors.

Another winner, Jordan Eberle.  His first NHL goal was voted the best of the year on Facebook.

The NHL Schedule, like the WHL will be rolled out soon.  It was announced that Winnipeg will open on Thanksgiving Sunday (October 9th) vs. Montreal

The WHL pre-season schedule will come out today.

Joel Edmundson along with members of the Warriors hockey operations staff are in Minnesota awaiting the NHL draft that starts tomorrow.  Joel is on twitter if you want to follow his experience,!/3Yoel  Joel tweeted that he met with the Oilers yesterday....

The Hometown Parade goes tonight--- so if your going anywhere, Main Street will be blocked off or if you want to take in the festivities hit up Main around 7 pm.

The Miller Express play Friday vs Swift, Saturday vs Regina and Sunday vs Medicine Hat.  Get out and take in some ball.  Great entertainment for $10.00.

Have a great Thursday!
